The chemical structure of SmCo can be divided into two compositions: Sm2Co17 and SmCo5.
Sm2Co17 has a higher energy density and a higher maximum operating temperature than SmCo5.
SmCo magnets feature high energy density as well as a low temperature coefficient of residual induction, and they can be used in high maximum operating temperatures.
SmCo magnets are better able to resist high temperatures than other rare earth magnets, thus being ideally suited for use in hostile operating environments.
